# Choose an Event or File Input for Jinba Flow

> Choose the right Jinba Flow input tool for a webhook, Slack event, Twilio SMS/MMS, image URL, or text-file URL.

Choose an input tool by the data that starts your flow or enters a published API or MCP workflow. Each `INPUT_` ID is part of the workflow contract, so use the exact ID shown below. Follow the linked page for the required fields, result shape, and a way to check that the input worked.

| Input | Use when | Tool ID | Guide |
| - | - | - | - |
| HTTP webhook | Another service sends an HTTP request | `INPUT_WEBHOOK` | [Receive a webhook](/en/pages/tools/files/receive-webhook) |
| Slack event | A Slack App sends an event subscription | `INPUT_SLACK_EVENT` | [Receive a Slack event](/en/pages/tools/files/receive-slack-event) |
| Twilio SMS/MMS | A Twilio number receives a message | `INPUT_TWILIO_SMS` | [Receive Twilio SMS/MMS](/en/pages/tools/communication/twilio) |
| Image URL | A step needs image data from a direct URL | `INPUT_IMAGE_FILE` | [Load an image URL](/en/pages/tools/files/load-image-url) |
| Text-file URL | A step needs text, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, or HTML content | `INPUT_FILE_AS_TEXT` | [Read a file as text](/en/pages/tools/files/read-file-as-text) |

Use [File Input](/en/pages/tools/files/input) for the other file input tools. To learn how a workflow is exposed outside the editor, see [Publish](/en/pages/basics/publish).
